French authorities detain 4-Nation after stabbing with Islamic extremism

Four people were detained Sunday after a fatal stabbing in eastern France, according to the National Counter-Terrorism Attorney's Office.
A Portuguese man was killed in an attack on Saturday in the city of Murhouse near the border with Germany. Seven police officers were injured, including a parking control agent, died of serious injuries, the prosecutor's office said.
The detainees included the alleged assaulter, a 37-year-old Algerian man identified by prosecutors as Brahim A. The interior minister described him as an Islamic extremist with schizophrenia. Two family members of the suspect and one of the person who detained him were also detained, the prosecutor's office said.

French President Emmanuel Macron said the government was “fully determined” to respond to the attack, which he attributed to “Islamic terrorism.” France has been highly alert to the threat of extremism.
The suspect repeatedly said “Allahu Akbar” – “God is great” in Arabic – the prosecutor said. He armed with a knife and a screwdriver.
Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau told reporters Saturday night that the suspect arrived in France in 2014 without documents and was reported to Israel in Hamas on October 7, 2023 Arrested and ruled to seek terrorism after the attack. He added that police experts found “schizophrenia found” among the suspects.
After being sentenced to jail for several months for the conviction, the suspect was confined to the House of Representatives as authorities attempted to deport him to Algeria. Retailleau criticized Algeria for boycotting the return of French criminals who tried to deport.
Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on Sunday that the French government will hold a special meeting on immigration on Wednesday. Balotel said on Europe-1 Radio that they will significantly study 19 countries “what is the hardest we have without papers.”
