My favorite moment Captain America: A Brave New World It lasted for about two seconds. In the best big battle in the movie, Captain America and the Falcon try to stop two fighters from attacking the armies of multiple countries. Things exploded, machine guns were fired, and at some point Captain America rode the missile like a surfboard. It happened in the flash, but at that moment, I realized what was missing from the movie I was watching: something, Anythingunique and interesting.
Captain America: A Brave New World It is the fourth film about the Nominal Mantle, and the first film with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) waving his shield. The Torch's Pass took place in a movie released six years ago (2019 Avengers: The Final Game) and explored some extra depth and care in a TV show released four years ago (2021s) Falcon and winter soldiers), both of which are realized in one story, a direct sequel to a movie released 17 years ago (2008s Incredible Hulk). Basically, there are very few “brave” or “new” in this movie. More like “try” and “real”.
Here, Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford, who took over as the late William Hurt) is now the president of the United States and must deal with the impact of the movie released four years ago (2021 eternal). In that movie, a celestial body is forgotten on Earth, and now Ross finds himself trying to facilitate a treaty that will equitably distribute the island’s resources. The main resource Agamantium is actually a new thing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but unless you know the final application of the comics (or the last Marvel movie), it never fully explains why it is so important. They know you know, so you just choose it.
The progress of the treaty was the weaving of Captain America, often joined by his friend Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez), who is slowly sliding into Wilson's old role as the Falcon. They stole a secret package. Their friend was murdered. They hang out together in this Captain America-themed apartment, and eventually, they reveal a plot made by Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson), whose beef and Rose (Ross) Dating all the way back to the second MCU movie. He is a cool villain, but has remained in the shadows for a large part until the end of the movie, making some impact.
If all of this sounds a bit old, a little silly and overly complicated, it's because it's because of it. Captain America: A Brave New World Walking back and forth from long, engaging narrative junkyards to occasional expo junkyards, mostly meaningless action clips, these works have little impact on the advancement of the plot. Often, they feel unresponsible, just to fill in a few minutes until the characters can over-interpret the interface of simple plots in 20th. This pattern recurs, and all the scenes that lead us to know come because it's in every marketing there: Rose becomes a Red and Green giant. The movie takes it as a big reveal, which is ridiculed from the beginning of the movie, but when you walk into the theater it's actually on the poster A brave new worldfail. The whole process is carried out by a huge, epic, surprising, miracle climax, but with zero suspense, and ends up looking and feeling almost like every other Hulk scene in previous Marvel movies. It's just flat.

However, there are a few things that won't be flat. It takes two seconds to ride a missile like a surfboard. More importantly, the actor is another one. Anthony Mackie is completely Captain America here, an occasion that has been working hard since 2014Aptain America: Winter Soldiers. While nothing happens around McGee doesn't seem to cause any emotion or be worthy of attention, his charm and confidence fights it, a superhero feat. Ford is mostly shining, too, but he is Harrison Ford, so he's great as long as he screams with energy iota. Marvel Newcomer Shira Haas plays Ruth Bat-Seraph, a former Black Widow who becomes Ross' security chief, and despite the character being the least clear arc in the film, she's incredibly engaging. Ramirez is in good balance with Mackie, providing at least a sense of humor and from Blake Nelson and unfortunately pointless Giancarlo Esposito) has been supported in the work because everyone almost knows they are not in a great movie.
If the movie itself realizes this, it would be perfect, but it is not. Starting from the start with the unique stylized “Marvel Studios” logo, with a bold decision to start by calling the film a “Brave New World” (Sans “Captain America”), director Julius Onah thinks he’s at the helm some Glirty, important, political thriller from the 1970s. Or, at least a closer movie Captain America: Winter Soldier. This is not the case. A brave new world Don’t know what you want to be, don’t know what it wants to say, and there is a story without any important drama. Even a few scenes with a certain heart or excitement are quickly overwhelmed by irrelevant discourses or convincing percent heart motivations.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have some debris throughout the clip, including one scene, but none of them – including the introduction of Adamantium and its obvious, apparently comic-driven effects on future-produced Captain America: A Brave New World What it wants is: an important, memorable addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. McGee may be a worthy successor to Chris Evans, but A brave new world is a bottom-level Marvel movie with a snooze plot and a low-key emotional bet.
Captain America: A Brave New World Opened on Friday, February 14. Happy Valentine's Day?
