Chicago Blackhawks acquire linebacker Derek Pouliot Acquired from New York Rangers for Forward Aidan Thompson.
Pouliot has two goals and 26 assists in 52 games with the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack this season. The 12-year pro totaled 54 goals and 240 assists for 294 points in 462 AHL games with Hartford, Syracuse, Texas State, San Jose, Henderson, Lehigh Valley, San Antonio and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He has appeared in the AHL All-Star Classic three times (2015, 2020, 2025) and was selected to the AHL All-Star First Team in the 2024-25 season.
Originally a first-round pick (eighth overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Pouliot has eight goals and 46 assists in 226 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, Vancouver, St. Louis, Vegas, Seattle, San Jose and Dallas.
Thompson played 40 games for the AHL Rockford IceHogs this season, scoring 6 goals and 9 assists for 15 points. The rookie out of the University of Denver is the Blackhawks' third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
