Rich Paul responds to reports that Jeanie Buss cheated on LeBron James

The latest wave of drama for the Lakers, which now involves Rich Paul, comes after reports surfaced that Jeanie Buss was unhappy with LeBron James at one point and questioned the power level of his inner circle.

“An article is written every day. Who cares, I don't care,” Paul said on the latest episode of the Game Over podcast with Max Kellerman. “You don't know what's real and what's fake, but where there's smoke there's fire. But I will say, I saw some stuff about it and obviously they talked about different scenarios in terms of the power we might have and so on… That's all I know. People should appreciate guys like Michael Irving, there should be. Our legends. And definitely should appreciate guys like LeBron.

“The article talks about the issue of LeBron and Krazy having too much power and all these types of things… but these types of things happen all the time and people don't know about your relationship. I'm just saying you don't know if these things are true. You only know your relationship with other people. All I know is that from the moment we got to L.A., we were treated really well. We won a championship. We played Rummikub in the bubble and had a lot of fun, lunch every day.

“I think when people see things going well, they try to find loopholes and try to manipulate relationships and things like that,” he continued. “In any relationship, no matter who it is, no matter how long you've been with someone, at some point there's going to be some type of annoyance. That's part of it, we're all human. But I like to focus on the things that have been done and done well and done well. Every year, you're working toward a common goal… Some people are so envious of that partnership that they try to come up with stuff every day, BS information and all.”
