Canucks acquire Clayton from San Jose | TheAHL.com

Vancouver Canucks acquire defender Cole Claytonas well as second-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NHL draft, from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Kiefer Sherwood.

Clayton, 25, is in his fifth professional season spent entirely in the AHL. He played 33 games for the San Jose Barracudas in the 2025-26 season, contributing 2 goals and 3 assists.

Clayton was born in Strathmore, Alta., and played 257 AHL games in his career with San Jose and Cleveland, totaling 14 goals and 52 assists for 66 points. He was selected as Cleveland's 2024-25 IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year Award winner.
