Sharp and Versteeg named honorary captains for All-Star Classic TheAHL.com

Springfield, Massachusetts …President and CEO of the National Hockey League Scott Howson AHL and Chicago Blackhawks alumni announced today Patrick Sharp and Chris Versteeg Selected as honorary captain BMO presents 2026 AHL All-Star Classicwill be held February 10-11 in Rockford, Illinois.
Each year, All-Star Classic Honorary Captains appear with participating teams in the locker rooms and on the bench during the event and are recognized for their careers during the annual AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony.
Patrick Sharp In the first three seasons of his career, he played 163 games for the Philadelphia Phantoms, scoring a total of 52 goals and 114 points. In the 2004-05 season, he represented the Phantoms in the 2005 AHL All-Star Classic and subsequently scored 21 points in 21 playoff games, including a team-best four goals and six points in the Finals, helping Philadelphia win the Calder Cup. Sharp went on to play in 939 regular season and 142 playoff games in the National Hockey League with Philadelphia, Chicago and Dallas, and played a key role in the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup championships in 2010, 2013 and 2015. He also won a gold medal as a member of Team Canada at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Chris Versteeg 145 AHL games with Providence, Norfolk and Rockford, including serving as captain of the IceHogs in 2019-20. Versteeg had 26 goals and 72 points in 70 games, finishing fourth on the AHL rookie scoring list in 2006-07, before moving on to the National Hockey League, playing 643 games over 11 seasons with Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, Florida, Carolina, Los Angeles and Calgary. Versteeg was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in the 2008-09 season and won two Stanley Cup championships with the Blackhawks in 2010 and 2015.
