Griffins' Kosar named AHL Player of the Week TheAHL.com

Springfield, Massachusetts …National Hockey League announces Grand Rapids Griffins goaltender today Sebastian Cosa has been selected as Howies Hockey Video/AHL Player of the Week Period ending November 30, 2025.
Kosar allowed just four goals on 73 shots last week (1.33, .945) as the league-leading Griffins won three straight.
Kosar helped lead Grand Rapids to a 10-1 two-game sweep over Texas State on Tuesday and made 24 saves in a 6-3 victory over Grand Rapids on Wednesday. Then on Sunday night, Kosar earned his second shutout of the season by stopping all 26 shots he faced in the Griffins' 1-0 victory over visiting Iowa.
Kosar, Detroit's first-round pick (15th overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft, is 8-1-0 in nine starts this season and leads the AHL in goals against average (1.56) and save percentage (0.942). The 23-year-old from Hamilton, Ont., has made 93 career appearances for Grand Rapids, compiling a 52-26-14 record, a 2.43 GAA, a .912 save percentage and five shutouts. Kosar has played one game for the Red Wings and earned a win in his NHL debut on December 9, 2024 in Buffalo.
