Victor Wembanyama honest about Luka Doncic ahead of clash

The NBA's brightest young stars will collide again on Wednesday night as Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs take on Luka Doncic and the Lakers. Both teams are attacking fiercely this season. The Lakers have a record of 6 wins and 2 losses, followed by the Spurs with 5 wins and 1 loss.
For Wembanyama, this game means more than just another regular season game. The French phenom admits that going up against Doncic is always a challenge and one he has yet to figure out.
“Hopefully for the best. Luka is one of the hardest players to scout because he understands and owns the game better than almost anyone,” Wembunyama said, via Spurs Nation . “It's always a big challenge. I don't think I've ever beaten him.”

So far this season, Vembanyama is averaging 26.7 points, 13.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and a ridiculous 4.7 blocks per game, which is a dominant performance. His development into a superstar on both sides of the ball has put the Spurs into early contention in the Western Conference, but Doncic and the Lakers are facing their toughest test yet.
Another win for Los Angeles would move Doncic to 5-0 against Vembanyama, a mark that highlights how difficult it is for the Slovenian guard to defend.
Although the Lakers were plagued by injuries early on, including to Doncic himself, the Lakers have remained strong under head coach Redick, boasting the league's fifth-best offense and shooting 52.9 percent from the field through eight games.
Redick praised the chemistry that developed between his stars, noting that Doncic and Austin Reeves anchored the team with energy and selflessness.
“Guys are holding each other accountable and then, as a coaching staff, you have to accept that and our players accept that,” Redick told Spectrum Sports Network. “You can't win in this league unless you play hard. That's not possible right now and these guys have been really good the last seven games.”
