Penguins' Murashov named AHL Goaltender of the Month TheAHL.com

Springfield, Massachusetts …the American Hockey League announced today Sergei Murashov Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins team selected AHL Goaltender of the Month October.

Murashov made six starts in October and posted a 5-1-0 record with a 1.68 goals-against average, 0.935 save percentage and one shutout to help the Penguins get off to their best start to a season in 15 years.

Murashov allowed just 10 goals on 154 shots, starting with 23 saves in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 2-1 win over Hartford on Oct. 11. He made 26 saves in a 4-1 win over Lehigh Valley on October 24 and 25 saves against Charlotte on October 25, ultimately earning AHL Player of the Week honors.

The 21-year-old Murashov currently has a record of 5 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses. In seven starts in the 2025-26 season, he has a goals against average of 1.73 and a save percentage of 0.931. He ranks third in the league in playing time (415 minutes) and is tied for second in wins. Murashov, Pittsburgh's fourth-round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft, has compiled a 17-5 record with a 2.36 GAA, .918 save percentage and two shutouts in 23 AHL games for the Penguins since his debut in October 2024.
