NBA fans react to Michael Jordan's first appearance on NBC

Michael Jordan's first appearance on NBC's new show Inside Out drew mixed reactions.

Part one debuts Tuesday night at halftime of the Rockets' opening night matchup with the Thunder.

NBC conducted a 3 minute, 20 second interview in which Mike Tirico asked Michael Jordan directly why he created this new segment.

Jordan made it clear that it's not about the money because we all know he has a lot of it.

It’s more about paying it forward.

“To get the money out there,” he said. “I have an obligation to play basketball.”

It's clear that after all these years, his love for the game hasn't faded.

“I wish I could take a magic pill today, put on shorts, go out and play basketball, because that's who I am,” Jordan said. “This type of competition… competitiveness… is what I live for. I miss it.”

A question many fans wanted to know was answered in part one: What is the Bulls legend doing now that he's away from the basketball spotlight?

“You never know when you're at the top of your career how much time you're not going to have to spend with your family,” Jordan said on the NBC show. “That's what I have time to do now. The most valuable asset I have is time. So that's probably why you don't see me…”

Fans on X have had mixed reactions to the new title.
