Spurs 'lied' about Victor Wembanyama's height

Victor Wembanyama's height has caused quite a stir in league circles.

The Spurs star's rookie height is 7 feet 3 inches.

However, the Spurs roster now lists him at 7-foot-4, while NBA.com lists him at 7-foot-5. Very curious.

7-foot-4 Serbian big man Boban Marjanovic claims he had to look up to Wimbanyama when he faced him on the court.

Therefore, his real height must be at least 7 feet 5 inches.

“I'm 7 feet 4 inches tall.” I looked up at Victor Wembanyama and was like…no way,” Boban said on ESPN.

Senior NBA analyst Brian Windhorst added that “his height as a rookie was listed as 7-foot-3,” but that was a lie. He's not 7'3″, I believe he's actually about 7'5″.

“He's currently 7-foot-5 and I believe he's probably closer to the unofficial 7-foot-7.”

In response to Boban, Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor wrote on I've been around great players like Boban and Taco Fall. Winby was taller than them all. “

Just a few days ago, analyst Bill Simmons made the odd case for Wymbey's height, hilariously mocking the Spurs in the process.

“By the way, congratulations to the Spurs for finally recognizing him as 7-foot-5,” NBA commentator Bill Simmons said on his podcast.

“It's a small step until everyone admits he's 7-foot-6,” which he is. But at least we're choosing 7'5″ now.

“Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar) always lies, Bill Walton always lies, (Kevin) Durant is another height liar.”

Regardless of his size, Wimby looks to be entering the season with a new approach to his game. During the preseason, he looked to be utilizing his size more, with some claiming he was moving like Shaq used to. Really scary time.
