LeBron James on his favorite thing about Luca Doncic

LeBron James has spent two decades measuring greatness, but the 41-year-old Lakers star remains in awe when it comes to Luka Doncic.

“I just like how he approaches the game,” James said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “I like how he plays the game. More importantly, man, he's just a great F-Singer (Ining Fun). I always use IQ as a measure of basketball – a player that can be considered a game. There are a lot of people in our league that can play games, but being able to think that games can make you another level, too.”

“You can say he learned the game the right way,” LeBron added.

The Lakers made a huge deal last season, landing Doncic from Dallas and pairing with his childhood idol.

In 23 games where they shared the floor, Los Angeles flashed that chemistry with a franchise dream.

Doncic and James averaged 27.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.4 blocks. LeBron countered with 23.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks.

James has been locked up for a year and has exercised his 2025-26 player option worth $52.6 million.

He will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time since 2018.

Meanwhile, Doncic made it clear that he hopes the all-time scoring leader ends his career in purple and gold.

According to Dallashoopsjournal, Don Sic “hopes James will retire with the Lakers” and believes the duo can compete immediately.

For the two biggest stars in the league, respect is obviously mutual, and the championship chase is officially held in Los Angeles.
