The Golden State Warriors' interest in LeBron James will not disappear soon.
“I've been told that the Warriors have called the Lakers several times over the past 18 months to see if there is a trade path that pairs James with Stephen Curry,” said Jake Fischer of the Stein Line. “About a year ago, he teamed up with LeBron for the U.S. Senior Men's National Team and won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics.”
Fischer noted that despite both legends being intense, their finals have a long history, “Enjoy[ed] Their experience as teammates on the international stage. ”
The Warriors' angle is reportedly dependent on Jonathan Kuminga, who is still in a contract standoff.
“Who would the Warriors go in the trade if Cushing was to give up and accept a two-year offer?” Fischer wrote. “As long as LeBron James’ future in Los Angeles remains uncertain, there is no doubt that Golden State will be mentioned James Suitor.”
Whether Kuminga is still in the bay remains unresolved. Fischer suggested that if he does re-sign, the Warriors may use him as a core share.
“In addition, the Warriors are known for their preference for large hunting [Jimmy] Butler. ”
The idea of Curry and James sharing floors in Golden State would be huge. Their only mission is that teammates end with Olympic gold, except for Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. This chapter only adds fuel to the Warriors' pursuit.
Currently, Los Angeles has all the cards, but Golden State clearly keeps its choice open, and LeBron James is still very focused on their radar.
