Paul George underwent surprise knee surgery

The Philadelphia 76ers announced that Paul George recently underwent arthroscopy in his left knee after he suffered an injury during a workout.

The team called it a “process to treat injuries in recent exercises” and provided no other details except saying George will reassess George before September begins.

“A source familiar with George's injury told me that this is essentially an arthroscopic cleanup and does not involve the main ligaments,” the report said, Phly Sports' Kyle Neubeck. “So far, nothing has known better than this,” Neubeck added.

But it's not good to Philadelphia, because sports Tony Jones explained.

Joel Embiid is only part of the basketball event, and George is now in recovery mode, meaning two of Philadelphia’s three best players will be back from injuries that have returned to a critical season. If George isn't ready for training camp, preseason or regular season, that will have many implications for Philadelphia during the transition period. ”

Last season, George played only half of the Philadelphia game due to lingering knee and groin problems. He averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, shooting 35 points, contributing 3%.

The 76ers' injuries were not limited to George. Joel Embiid played 19 games, Jared McCain made 23 appearances and Tyrese Maxey fit 52, a brutal year at the team’s core.

On paper, the Embiid-George-Maxey trio could make Philadelphia a contender for the Eastern Conference. However, it remains to be seen whether they can stay healthy and find chemistry under head coach Nick Hurse.
