McKenzie will return to Cedar Park after recording 15 goals and 15 assists in 67 games in 2024-25 and finish ninth in his ninth place. He added five goals and five assists in 14 playoff games to help Texas reach the Western Conference Finals. McKenzie also captained the Western Conference at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic and was selected as the winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Awards because his work in the local community is the IOA/American American Specialty Ahl Man AHL MAN of the Year.
McKenzie played 653 AHL games with Texas, Utica and Chicago, recording 195 goals and 286 assists and 481 points. He has won six 20 goals scorers in the AHL and won the Dudley (Red) Garrett Memorial Award in 2013-14.
In the playoffs, McKenzie scored 75 points with 34 goals and 41 assists in the 104 Calder Cup playoff game. He has participated in three Calder Cup finals (2014, 2018, 2019), won the star championship in 2014, and is one of the 23 players in AHL history, participating in at least 100 playoff games.
Mackenzie was originally Dallas' sixth round choice in the 2009 NHL Draft, playing 99 games in the NHL, all playing with the Stars and earning 10 goals and 13 assists.
