Schwarzenegger tells environmentalists to “stop complaining” and start work frustrated by Trump

Vienna (AP) — Arnold Schwarzenegger's environmentalists who are desperate about the attitude of President Donald Trump's administration have a message: “Stop complaining and start working.”

The new U.S. government has brought the axe to Biden-era environmental ambitions, making a comeback regulations, withdrawing funding for climate projects, and supporting support for oil and gas production in the name of the “American Energy Advantage” agenda.

Since leaving his political post in 2011, former Republican Governor of California, Schwarzenegger, has been working on environmental reasons.

He said Tuesday that he has been hearing news from environmentalists and policy experts lately, asking: “When the U.S. government says climate change is a scam and coal and oil are the future, what is the point of fighting for a clean environment?”

Schwarzenegger helped organize the event at the Austrian World Summit in Vienna, where he replied: “Stop complaining and start working.”

He pointed to examples of local and regional governments and actions, including his own government in California, and believed that pollution was reduced by 70% at the local or state level.

“Become the mayor who makes buses electric; be the CEO who ends fossil fuel dependence; be the school that places (in) solar roofs,” he said.

“You can't just sit around and make excuses because a guy from a very good White House on Pennsylvania Avenue doesn't agree with you,” he said.

“I know people are tired of complaining, complaining, and doom and melancholy,” Schwarzenegger said. “The only way we win the hearts of the people is to show them the actions that make their lives better.”
