T-Mobile says this is not monitoring you. What does the new screen recording tool actually do

Over the past week, some T-Mobile customers have been surprised to discover a new (by default) feature in the T-Life app called the “Screen Recording Tool”. Given the recent IFFY recording tools in Windows, such as Microsoft's Recold AI feature, seeing the ability to record screen content will surely cause privacy issues.
How to disable screen recording tool if you see
If you are a T-Mobile subscriber, you can check if this new option is open by opening the T-Life app, click manage Then hit set up (this Gear icon). this Screen Recording Tool Options are displayed in Preference title.
If there are options, click to display the description and toggle the switch. The description reads: “We use tools to record how customers use the app to analyze and improve your experience. Only T-Mobile will view and analyze your information. If you turn on this toggle or magenta, we will record your screen when using the app. If you turn off this toggle or grey, your screen will be recorded.”
To disable the feature, click the switch to turn it gray. (“Magenta” and “Gray” in the text refer to the color of the toggle switch to indicate whether it is active.)
Why T-Mobile is behind new features
When I contacted the company for more information, a T-Mobile spokesperson defended the feature, saying it was designed to improve the user experience.
“To help us provide a smoother experience for customers using T-Life, we are launching a new tool in the app that will help us quickly resolve reported or detected issues,” a spokesperson said. “The tool only records activity in the app and does not see or access any personal information. If the customer's T-Life app currently supports new features, you can turn it off in the settings under preference.”
According to an article by DroidLife, the post mentioned the issue earlier, with new options all showing on iPhones and Android phones.
Why opting in is so important
On the surface, the screen recording tool seems to operate as it says, and it is limited to the fact that the T-Life app is a reasonable and expected limit.
However, like all potential privacy issues, the fact that T-Mobile enables the feature by default makes customers suspicious. It should initially be turned off, and if there is a problem that requires screen recording, the company can get permission from the phone owner to turn it on.
T-Mobile actually has a similar setup in the T-Life application. There is another screen recording feature that is completely separate from this new screen recording tool. In the application settings Help and supportIS screen sharing, can be used during support calls. It allows T-Mobile experts to view the phone's screen when solving problems. It takes several steps and requires you to agree to record the screen before allowing support experts to connect to the application.
If you have ever tried to help friends or family members over the phone and ask them to describe what is on the screen, you'll be grateful to see what they see directly.
