iPhone 17 rumors and leaked loopholes. This is the feature we're most excited about

President Donald Trump's potential 25% tariff on iPhones could mean the rumored iPhone 17 had a markup even before it was released.
Prices may play a big role when the new iPhone announces a new iPhone, but many other rumors and leaks have made fans expect what new features the iPhone 17 can bring, including better video features and new colors.
Battery power may be a feature you focus on. The rumored iPhone 17 Air may balance the thin design with improved battery technology, and the iPhone Pro Max is said to be getting thicker and thicker, making room for more battery power.
With potential tariffs still looming, Apple's WWDC announcement is coming soon, and we're tracking all the biggest rumors and leaks and sharing what we know so you can learn about the next step of the iPhone.

iPhone 17 release date: When will the next iPhone appear?
Over the past few years, Apple has been announcing its new phones in the first half of September. This may be the case for the entire iPhone 17 lineup except for the iPhone 17E, which may arrive in early 2026, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The iPhone 17 lineup may be the last lineup to follow this fall release model. Starting with the iPhone 18, Apple will report separate its phone releases to launch a low-cost iPhone in the first half of the year, and the high-end Pro model will be available later this year. But that won't happen until 2026, so you may still expect the iPhone 17 Pro to be available this fall.
Pre-orders for new iPhones usually start on Friday after the announcement, and one week later, the phone ships.
iPhone 17 price: Will tariffs increase the cost of the next iPhone?
President Donald Trump has raised, lowered and suspended tariffs since February, all of which could affect the cost of the iPhone 17.
Apple may have moved most of its iPhone production from China to India, thanks to a list of exemptions from mutual tariffs, including many phones, laptops and other electronics, thus escaping many tariffs.
But all notes seem to be temporary, so mutual tariffs may still affect prices by the time the iPhone 17 is released.
Trump threatens Apple to impose a 25% tax on all iPhones except in its May 23 social media post. Later that day, he said that if they don't move operations to the U.S., all smartphones (not just iPhones) will be subject to 25% tariffs by the end of June.
Regardless of how tariffs work, Apple plans to raise iPhone prices later this year, according to the Wall Street Journal. Apple apparently plans to attribute the price increase to better features and design costs to avoid pointing fingers at tariffs and piping off Trump’s anger (like Amazon has done for the time being).
CNET executive editor Patrick Holland, who has been reviewing CNET's phone calls since 2016, noting that iPhones are overdue. He noted that Apple has never raised the price of the iPhone Pro ($999) since the iPhone X was first launched in 2017.
So yes, you should expect to pay more for the iPhone 17 regardless of the tariffs.
New iPhone 17 colors
Rumors about new iPhone colors began in April when Twitter users and Leaker Majin Bu (not the Dragon Ball Z character) released the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max for a sky blue option. The latest MacBook Air model is sky blue, and if it goes in the same direction, the soft tones we can see on the iPhone.
For reference, the iPhone 16 and Plus made its debut in pink, teal and mooramic colors last year when it debuted next to standard white and black and standard white and black. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max launch a new color, desert titanium (the constrained shadow of peach), and the classic natural titanium, white titanium and black titanium options.
iPhone 17 Pro Camera Bump Redesign
The iPhone 17 Pro's camera is a subject of multiple changes in rumors, and most notably, Apple can add a horizontal camera pole that can be spread over the width of the phone. The front-facing “selfie camera” may also be upgrading.
Back in January, BU posted a leaked image on X, suggesting that the phones can use a pill-shaped camera rod that looks a lot like the one on Google's Pixel 9 phone.
This raises the question of whether the iPhone 17 Pro will point three camera lenses at three camera lenses like the iPhone 16 Pro or stack them together.
In February, BU released CAD renderings that might be the iPhone 17 lineup, and homepage Tech also shared the iPhone 17 Pro renderings in the video. Both show the horizontal camera rod of the iPhone 17 Pro model to maintain the stacked lens layout.
As for your selfie: According to analyst Jeff PU, the front camera will be reportedly upgraded from the 12-megapixel of the iPhone 16 to the 24-megapixel on all iPhone 17 models.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will feature a 48-megapixel rear camera, rising from 12 megapixels on the iPhone 16 Pro model, the PU wrote in March. This means that all three cameras on the iPhone 17 Pro models (Fusion, Ultrawide and Telephoto) will be 48 megapixels.
Leaked Specifications: iPhone 17 vs. iPhone 17 Pro vs. iPhone 17 Pro Max
The specifications of the iPhone 17 are more rigid to the specifications of the rumor manufacturer.
exhibit
Rumors about the 120Hz display (Pro Motion) on all iPhone 17 models may be welcome news, and the always-on display may be added to the baseline model after Apple's strong opposition to not updating the 60Hz display on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus.
One feature you probably won't see in the new iPhone 17 Pro model is a reflective display, which CNET's Patrick Holland calls one of the best properties of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. A source told Macrumors that Apple had to scratch more scratch-resistant displays due to expansion issues in the coating process.
Additionally, the PU says the iPhone 17 Pro Max may reduce the size of its face ID sensor, so it may have a narrower dynamic island, but other iPhone 17 models may remain the same size.
memory
Tipster Digital Chat Station reported in April that Apple Intelligence and AI may play a more prominent role in the iPhone 17. To support new features, all iPhone 17 models will have up to 12GB of RAM. Based on the digital trend, Kuo also indicates that this may happen.
Considering that the iPhone 16 series has 8GB of RAM in all models, this could be a big upgrade for the iPhone 17.
frame
There is a lot of discussion about whether the iPhone 17 Pro will give up its titanium frame from aluminum. According to PU, recent rumors predict that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all have an aluminum frame.
iPhone 17 battery life
The iPhone 17 Air may have to shorten battery life to make the design thinner, although the latest rumor from Appleinsider is that it may use silicon-axis batteries that can help extend battery life. However, there are rumors that the iPhone 17 Pro may add battery.
PU said in May that the baseline iPhone 17 could feature Apple's in-house A19 chip, and professionals can use the A19 Pro chip. The iPhone 16 is powered by an A18 chip that improves efficiency for improved battery life. According to a report from this month's 9to5MAC, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may have a thickness of 8.725mm compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is 8.25mm thick. Larger sizes may potentially provide space for more batteries.
Are new iPhone rumors and leaks trustworthy?
Here is the part I came in and said: before Apple officially released its next iPhone, everything was a rumor. Rumors and speculation that lead to iPhone releases are often based on internal knowledge or information leaked from teams working on iPhone design, but these designs are in progress – not necessarily the final product.
