German police union wants to support AI after Hamburg knife attack
Following Friday's knife attack, the head of the German GDP Police Alliance called for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to provide technical support to the legal imposition agency, which injured 18 people at Hamburg's central station.
“Unfortunately, this attack can never be 100% prevented,” Abendblatt reported.
However, Rosskopf stressed that there is an urgent need for federal police to conduct a comprehensive inspection at the railway station.
He argues that using AI-enabled camera technology “also includes behavioral recognition so that such behavioral abnormalities can be detected in advance.”
18 people were injured in an attack knife attack on a crowded station platform on Friday evening, four of whom were critically injured.
Police arrested a 39-year-old woman at the scene who will be taken to the sheriff on Saturday.
