Donald Trump defends Barack Obama
Donald Trump expanded a social media Sunday, suggesting former President Barack Obama should face a “military court” that is a public public court.
Regarding truth social, Trump shared an entry from a right-wing X user with photos of Trump and Obama: “All roads lead to Obama…if you want a public military court, the other way around.”
Trump has not commented on the position. However, the obvious Qanon compliance of the original poster in its X profile description demonstrates the president's willingness to express the most extreme part of his base.
The specific reasons why Trump has advanced this suggestion are not clear. He has repeatedly questioned Obama's American birth and accused Obama of treason of surveillance of his 2016 campaign without evidence. Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton that year and replaced Obama at the White House.
Military courts are also commonly used to trial service personnel charged with serious crimes or terrorists, in addition to civilians allegedly committed crimes against national security.
Trump also filed an early complaint on the Beihaishell photo on social media photos by former FBI Director James Comey, with the message “86 47”, which led Comey to an interview with the Secret Service. Trump and several Republicans accused Comey of calling for him to assassinate.
Trump later sent good wishes to former President Joe Biden when news of his advanced prostate cancer came out.
