When the buttons increase or decrease the amount of fixed amounts, they may allow you to choose between a slightly too high or a little quieter volume. However, if you keep your iPhone in the latest iOS version, you can bring the volume bar back to the lock screen so that you can control the volume more accurately without unlocking the iPhone.
When Apple released iOS 18.2 in December, this update allowed you to bring the volume bar back to the iPhone's lock screen. This is the volume bar removed from the lock screen when the company released iOS 16 in 2022. If you like using the volume bar, you can return it to the lock screen in four easy steps.
