Connections: Sports Edition is no longer Beta, now making its debut in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9. This shows that the game has gained enough loyal players, indicating that The Athletic is a subscription-based sports news website owned by Times and will continue to publish it. It does not show up in the NYT Games app, but now it appears in Athletic's own app. Or, you can continue to play it online for free.

The toughest link: Sports Edition category
Connection: The sports puzzle can be tough, but it really depends on the sports you know best. Everything my husband has to do with Formula 1 and my best friend is a hockey enthusiast and I can answer any questions about the Minnesota team.
That said, it's hard to choose the toughest connection category, but this is something that I've found incredibly encouraging lately.
