Mike Lynch's superyacht sank in the wind

According to a preliminary safety report from the Maritime Accident Investigation Company (MAIB), the late tech tycoon Mike Lynch’s superyacht Bayesian Bayesian was hit by the wind for about 117 km/h, which allowed the ship to exceed stability and caused pollution to be reduced on the starboard track.

Investigators say Bayes may be susceptible to strong winds when running on the engine, and that these “loopholes” are “unknown to the owner or crew” because they are not included in the stable information book on board.

The luxury ship has a 75-meter (246-foot) mast, which was anchored on 19 August 2024 on the shore near Porticello, Palermo Province, when it was hit by a storm shortly before the storm, killing seven people, including Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah.

15 people, including Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares, were rescued

Maib, who examined the stability of the yacht, which may have been local weather conditions and its impact on the yacht, commissioned a Bayesian stability study conducted by the University of Southampton Wolfson Marine Technology and Industrial Aerodynamics Unit.

Researchers build a stable model for BayesThis reproduces the information contained in the approved stable information manual, the report said. The report said that adjustments were subsequently made to replicate the conditions it sank at night, running in its electric state and in the form of a central plate.

The report said the rapid passing central earthquake produced brief hurricane gusts that drove Bayes over 90 degrees in 15 seconds, resulting in over 90 degrees, resulting in tilt. “Once the yacht's heels exceed an angle of 70 degrees, the situation cannot be resolved,” the report concluded.

“You have winds to push the boat down, and then your boat stabilizes, trying to push the boat back to the right again. Our study found that they found that Bayes might indicate that Bayes may be susceptible to strong winds, and that these winds may be obvious when the accident occurs.”

“There was no flood inside the Bayesians until water on the starboard rail entered and within seconds of entering the inner space of the stairwell,” the investigators said.

Maibe said its report is based on “limited evidence” because criminal investigations by Italian authorities have limited its opportunities for wreckage and other evidence.

The final report will include more details such as the “escape route” once Mey visits the ship.

The complete investigation report will be released within 12 months.

The wreckage is currently located at a depth of 50 meters from Porticello Bay.

The Bayesian recovery operation, which began in early May, has been suspended after death during underwater work.

Preparations for the on-site recovery will begin Thursday.
