Apple map speed enters Monaco F1 award

To spark interest in the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix from May 23-25 - and the upcoming F1, Apple brings details of the legendary contest to the map app on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Starting Wednesday, the Principality of Monaco's Monte Carlo will be included in the Apple Map for a new detailed urban experience.
This includes more detailed 3D renderings such as the Monte Carlo Casino and the Monte Carlo Casino in Paris, with day and night light versions. More importantly, the track itself will be marked on the map in light red, giving you an idea of how this legendary race blows directly through the streets and buildings of Monte Carlo.
The 3D view of Monaco during the F1 Grand Prix shows the race route and updated architectural details, even at night.

Following the template for upgrading other city experiences, the Monaco map adds many other details, from road signs to bike lanes. On game day, temporary structures will appear, such as stands, turn marks and finish line. You can explore the area by searching for the hiding places of several F1 cars (tip: at least one yacht). And if you are in person at Monte Carlo, Apple maps can be a valuable tool for detours and have real-time information such as closed circuits and sidewalks.
“Whether there or from a distance, the beautifully designed detailed urban experience and the Monaco Grand Prix feature allows them to enjoy the incredible views of Monaco, just in time for the competition to premiere in F1 in the film,” said Eddy Cue, senior vice president of senior services at Apple.
