Planning a Memorial Day trip? Looking forward to many companies

Apparently, Americans are ready for vacation.

The AAA said it expects to travel 45.1 million during this year's Memorial Day holiday weekend. While inflation and tariffs have increased prices have made many of us pay more or worry about higher costs, a three-day trip can be a good break with regular daily activities without breaching the budget.

“The show on Memorial Day weekend doesn’t have to be extravagant and expensive,” AAA Travel vice president Stacey Barber said in a press release. “While some travelers embark on a dream vacation and fly hundreds of miles around the country, many families simply pack up and drive to the beach or take a road trip to visit friends.”

According to the AAA's survey, most travelers are expected to take a car by car, with 87% of travel choices choosing road trips. This may be partly due to a drop in gasoline prices in March, according to the latest inflation rate from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Whether you're on the road or on a Memorial Day trip on a plane, there are many ways to save on travel, including efficient packing or cheap flights.
