Trump “save” tiktok, and another potential sales extension

President Donald Trump announced Friday that he would sign another executive order allowing Tiktok to continue operating in the U.S. for 75 days, while a deal to sell a social media platform was negotiated. Trump has announced the announcement of the Truth Society, and he continues to violate the Emerl clause of the U.S. Constitution, a platform that prohibits the president from profiting through his position as the most powerful person in the country.
“My administration has been working to save Tiktok's deal and we have made tremendous progress,” Trump wrote on Friday. “This deal requires more work to ensure that all the necessary approvals are signed, which is why I signed an executive order to get Tiktok up and run for an additional 75 days.”
Trump shared a video on Truth Social Friday, saying he had “intentionally” collapsed the stock market, writing that he was trying to work with Chinese officials at Tiktok's parent company Bytedance.
“We want to continue to work sincerely with China, and I understand that China is not satisfied with our reciprocal tariffs (necessary for fair and balanced trade between China and the United States!). This proves that tariffs are the most powerful economic tool and are very important to our national security!” Trump continued.
Markets were shocked by news of Trump’s shocking widespread tariffs imposed on every country around the world on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones industrial average dropping 1,600 points at the time of writing on Friday. Every country is hit by at least 10% of tariffs, but China receives even 34% higher tariffs beyond the 20% Trump has imposed. China announced it would retaliate against 24% tariffs on U.S. goods on Friday, according to the New York Times.
Congress passed a law signed by President Joe Biden in 2024 that should have forced Tiktok to sell Tiktok in U.S. interest or would have banned operating the platform in the U.S. briefly turned black in the U.S. for a few days, when the January 19 deadline passed on January 19 but was not for sale, but Trump announced the company's work and announced a work. The extension will expire on April 5, but Trump's new 75-day extension appears to send the company to the company until June 19, or faces a ban.
“We don't want tiktok' darkness. We look forward to working with Tiktok and China, thank you for your attention!” Trump wrote the truth in his unique weird way.
Several potential buyers reportedly offered bids for the company, including Amazon, Oracle, CNBC personality Kevin O'Leary and online media brand Beast, among others. But Bytedance reportedly said it was not interested in sales. The main adhesion point seems to be Tiktok's algorithm, which the Chinese government believes cannot assume hypothetical assumptions of the United States as foreign rivals like the United States, where American entities can buy the Tiktok brand without an algorithm, but it is not clear whether there is any interest in it. This algorithm is indeed the entire reason people use Tiktok.
