Tyrese Haliburton

Tyrese Haliburton's father John sent a public apology to Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after the dispute.

“I sincerely apologize to the Milwaukee Bucks and Pacers organization Giannis for the action after the game tonight, my action.” “This is not a good reflection of our sport or son, and I will not make this mistake again.”

Since the apology, the account has not posted anything in the past three years.

When asked about the events after the game, Giannis gave a very thoughtful answer.

“Currently, I thought he was a fan,” Antetokounmpo said. “But then I realized that was Teres' father. I love Teres. I think he was a great competitor. [But] It's his father. Come to the floor and show me his son, a towel, his face, [and saying]'That's what we're going to do. That's what we F-ing did. That's what we do. I think that is very, very disrespectful.

“My father…my father is no longer with us. My dad used to enter the family room and he is the most respected person ever. When you get nothing, you sell things on the street all your life, you've been afraid of the police, sending you back to your family and taking you back to your family and having to protect your children, you'll create any mean people for your life. I remember you're here saying: Dad, why are you sitting in the family room, you're sitting in the back?” He said: “Don't worry.” That's how I grew up.

“So when I see other dads – not disrespectful, maybe if my son played basketball, I might be in court, I might be the one in court, like 20 years later, you could take part in this interview and say Giannis, you're in 20 years, but we'll see in 20 years – but I'm happy with his dad right now. Cursing me is totally unacceptable.”

He added: “I ended up talking to him and I think we're in a good place.”

It is safe to say that there is a solid competitive building between the Bucks and the Pacers.
