If there are any recent Disney+Marvel shows that seem ready for a second season, it's Hawkeye. It is played by Jeremy Renner as one of the original Avengers. A new young version of the hero was built in Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop; and tells a story from which characters have returned to Kingpin, Yelena, Echo and others.
Well, according to Renner, he was asked to do his second season but only offered half of what he did in his first season, so he refused. “They asked me to do season two, and they gave me half the money,” Leonard high performance podcast. “I thought, 'Well, it's going to take twice my money, and my eight months (elementally eight months) can do it in half the amount.'”
“I thought, 'I'm sorry? Why? Do you think I'm just half of Jeremy because I've run away? Maybe that's why you want to pay half of everything I did in the first season,” he continued, referring to his 2023 accident where he was knocked down by a sno-cat and suffered a lifetime of injuries.
Renner quickly added that it wasn't Marvel did it, but Disney's accountant. “Please note that this is not a miracle,” Reiner said. “It's like Disney, not even Disney. It's just a cent, the accountant. I told them to go to the kite. I mean, just on the insulting quote. So we didn't see the eyes.”
If we are honest, this won't add up. Disney yes Marvel and accountants working at Disney represent Marvel. However, it seems Renner doesn't want to blame Marvel's creative people, just the one who signed the check.
IO9 contacted Disney and there was an insider controversial Renner's claim, but failed to elaborate. So, this is undoubtedly just one side of his story.
Renner is reluctant to blame anyone, probably because he says he wants to play Hawkeye in the future. “Sadly, I still love the character. I still love it, but I have to defend myself,” he said. “Please note that I didn't ask for any more money. Just pay me what I did in my first season. So it's a little frustrating that that didn't happen, but it's good. I'm happy to let go because my body is probably thanking me again and again, and I'm not doing that right now.

So you have. As of now, it seems Hawkeye Season 2 is not underway at this time. What a pity. We want to see Renner continue to coach Kate Bishop as she ascends to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, maybe it will merge together in the future.
