Nodule found in former President Joe Biden's prostate

WASHINGTON (AP) — A small nodule was found in the prostate of former President Joe Biden, a spokesman said Tuesday.

A brief statement said the finding “requires further evaluation”, but it is not clear whether this is the result of the exam already conducted.

Testing for nodules in the prostate usually requires further examination by urologists to rule out prostate cancer. These abnormal growths can be caused by cancer or less serious diseases, including inflammation or enlarged prostate.

Biden is 82 years old. Democratic leaders cited his age and concerns about his health, after their disastrous debate performance in June last year, urging him to abandon his reelection in 2024.

But just last week, Biden rejected concerns about his age, saying the broader parties did not accept the gain, but instead blamed Democratic leadership and “significant contributors.”

President Donald Trump repeatedly raised questions about Biden's physical and mental abilities during the campaign.

In February 2023, Biden cleared skin lesions from his chest, a basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer. In November 2021, he removed a polyp from his colon, a benign but possibly cancerous lesion.
