One player was surprised that Dallas ended only after shipping one of the smartest young talents in the league, Bra.
“I can't believe it because if you're going to trade someone like Luka Dončić, it's going to get the whole kitchen sink back up,” he told Track and Field. “I mean, obviously, with Anthony Davis, let's not be like he's not a top 75 player, a perennial All-Star and an All-NBA guy himself.
Another anonymous player gave Davis flowers but admitted that Luca would lead the league for years to come, and was confused.
“I don't understand,” he said. “I think (Dončić) might be the best player in the league in the next 15 years. Maybe there are some things behind the scenes we don't know, but I don't understand. At the same time, having Anthony Davis back is not like any of the rounds.
Another player is very candid about the entire chain reaction of the deal and will continue to produce against the NBA.
“Scary,” he said. “Wow. Like, what did they do? I thought (the Mavericks) would come out of the West again two months ago. That was horrible.
Players, fans and NBA employees may all feel the impact of the deal for a long time.
