Stephen A. Smith & Charles Barkley Honest to Nico Harrison

Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison seems to be digging a deeper loophole and the media is coming for him.

His latest mistake was to admit that he didn't know how much Luka Doncic really meant to Dallas fans.

“I do know that Luca is important to the fan base,” Harrison told reporters at the end of the season. “I don't know much about what level.”

Smith was not impressed at all with this comment.

“[Harrison] Smith said: “It seems like he said yesterday. Did you underestimate it? Where exactly do you live? Are you in Waco, Texas or somewhere rather than Dallas? What are you saying? How can you say these words from your mouth?

“It means you’re in some cocoon somewhere, you don’t go outside, you don’t play games, which is obviously not true because he’s always there.

Barkley took a softer approach throughout the situation.

“Listen, I think you are my friend – Nico Harrison, I think you are my friend,” Barkley said TNT's NBA interior. “I hope nothing but the best. I think you did a great job with the Mavericks last year and obviously nothing happened this year can't fix it.

“Man, don't do press conferences anymore. I don't even know what you're doing. I really don't know. I have sympathy and love for you, but I have zero ideas and want to know what you want to do. This war is over, brother.

“I hope you keep the job. I hope the team is healthy, but man, don't interview again. Please don't.”

It remains to be seen whether Nico keeps his job, but he has not helped him at the moment.
