Online Experts in the field say that the claim of the “large underground structure” of Egypt's famous pyramids is unfounded. The assertion stems from YouTube videos, in which three Italian researchers have no Egyptology background or archeology.

“What they found was amazing, five large structures near the bottom of the pyramid, connected by geometric paths,” read Malay Facebook post was posted in March twenty three2025.

After three researchers, these claims spread on social media – Corrado Malanga, Armando Mei and Filippo Biondi – Hold news Meeting March 22-23 on YouTube.

The three claimed that the “synthetic aperture radar” revealed the “giant underground complex” under the “second pyramid of the ancient pyramid of Giza”.

Similar posts are spread on Facebook in a variety of languages, including German, Arabic and Turkish. The British tabloid Daily Mail also answered claim.

However, experts told AFP that the three people's research was not watery.

“The pyramids are huge stone structures built on flat plateaus,” said Jean-Guillaume Olette-Pelletier, an Egyptologist at the University of Sorbonne, University of Paris. “They were then excavated or converted to include funerals and funeral rooms, but there was no evidence that the underground network was as deep as mentioned.”

Despite the criticism, Biondi told AFP that researchers support their findings.

“When objective evidence appears, it is not possible to apply,” he said in an email on April 22. “Our satellite data suggests that there are large artificial structures under the Giza Plateau that appear to belong to the unknown civilizations cited in ancient global mythology.”

“It's just a fabrication”

archeology Using techniques such as magnetic assays, soils of up to three to five meters can be analyzed based on their properties (archive link).

However, the researchers' claims are not based on “any scientifically valid data,” Olette-Pelletier said.

Archaeologist and former Egyptian antiquities minister Zahi Hawass also refuted the allegations Moving 26 statements (archive links here and here).

“Rumors suggest that there are pillars under the pyramid of Kavul, which is nothing but a fabrication of personal communication without expertise in ancient Egyptian civilization or pyramid history,” he explain.

Havas added that no researchers use radar equipment internally pyramid.

“There is no scientific evidence to support these assertions, and there are currently no archaeological missions within the Kavre Pyramid.”

NASA uses synthetic aperture radar (sar) The Italian trio mentioned the technique to map the Earth's surface, but Lawrence Conyers of the University of Denver said it was not intended to detect structures hundreds of meters underground (a link to archive).

“The radar waves gradually attenuate the ground. It is impossible to reach such depths through this technology.” expert explain.

NASA itself confirms SAR “allow The detailed image to be obtained by the Earth Relief is not intended to detect images of extreme depth (link to archive).

No archaeology background

The three Italian researchers behind the findings have no background in Egyptology or archaeology Work Not published in any credible scientific journal.

Malanga is a researcher at the University of Pisa in Italy (PISA), but his field of expertise is organic chemistry and UFOLOGY-UFO research.

Biondi is described as a researcher at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland and is no longer a part of the institution. According to his LinkedIn post, he now runs a private radar imaging company Harmanicsar.

According to his LinkedIn, Mei studied political science and considered himself an independent archaeological researcher and journalist.

He is the author of several books defending pseudo-architectural theory, including an ancient pyramid that claims that Mount Visco in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a natural form, but a human-built ancient pyramid. The scientific and archaeological community refuted the theory (archive link).
