Jimmy Butler's former teammate Udonis Haslem once expressed his final praise to Jimmy and explained why he was the perfect playoff weapon.
Haslem believes that the Warriors are one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs due to Butler.
“Jimmy Butler is one of the smartest basketball players I've ever been to,” Haslem said today in ESPN's NBA. “How to protect him in the regular season, and how to protect him in one game, you won't be able to protect him like you did in the second game.”
After losing to the Clippers, the Warriors booked their own place in the game instead of directly voting to the playoffs. But Haslem said Butler's thriving situation.
“For me, Jimmy Butler proposed the game in the playoffs,” Haslem said. “Because no matter what he does in the regular season, he will watch the movies, he will ensure weaknesses and the way he plays him, he will play his strengths in the playoffs. He is the ultimate competitor when his back is on the wall.”
As for Lakers star Luka Doncic, Haslem seems to have the opposite view of him, calling for his criticism of the defense.
“Luca will have to protect someone,” Haslem said on the “OGS” podcast. “At least try. … You have to try, man. I'm looking at the team ahead of you, nowhere to hide. If you play okc, nowhere to hide. … They'll put his sh*t into action. He has to guard. You have to endure the guard.”
