Officer apparently injured while shooting in the Upper Valley in El Paso

ELPASO, Texas (KTSM) – An officer was apparently injured and was transported to a local hospital after a shooting that El Paso police called officials in the Upper Valley in El Paso on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m., along the 6400 block of Passo through Drive.

Police said an officer was being taken to a local hospital but did not say how they were injured.

Our staff at the scene reported that police were present throughout the nearby area and people were urged to stay away from the area and seek alternative routes.

Currently, information is limited, but we will update this story immediately once we learn more.
