Jaylen Wells damage update after terrifying collision

Memphis Grizzlies rookie Jaylen Wells was taken on a stretcher Tuesday night after a frightening fall against the Charlotte Hornets.

The incident happened and Wells completed a quick rupture dunk from Ja Morant's pass. When he got down, he was clamped from behind by Charlotte's KJ Simpson, causing him to fall awkwardly and hit his head violently on the floor.

The medical staff responded quickly, often at Wells for about eight minutes, and then carefully stabilized his neck and placed it on a stretcher. The game stopped for a total of 23 minutes, including the time when the two teams regrouped and warmed up again.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Wells' agent Aman Dhesi confirmed that the young defender was “wake up, alert and move his limbs”. In the autumn, he had a broken wrist.

Wells himself also went to social media to post photos of the hospital, which signaled everyone he did.

Officials reviewed the play and ruled that a blatant 2 foul on Simpson led to an automatic ejection. Simpson immediately showed attention and clearly wavered Wells on a pleasing stage.

Wells was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft in Washington State, starting 74 of Memphis’ 79 games this season.

He averaged 10.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

It's undoubtedly the end of his season. A wrist injury takes six or eight weeks to heal. Pray for the new car!
