Stephen A. Smith is reconsidering his position as a presidential run for the United States in the 2028 election.
Smith was known Monday by retweeting an article in which he talked about the possibility of running for president at the NBC's NAB show in Las Vegas.
“It's time to stop wandering around. Life is great. Especially at ESPN/Disney. Hate the idea of becoming a politician. But tired of this chaos.
“So I officially opened all the doors,” Smith wrote as the title.
Some polls have shown that he is one of the top candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination, and ESPN hosts deny he will be a candidate for the office.
In the article, Mike McVay, president of McVay, asked Smith about his political aspirations.
“I don't want to do that,” Smith said of the presidency. “I'm living a very good life now. Life is a good life. The last thing I want to do is get myself involved in politics. I always think politicians are professional beggars. I'm not saying that's derogatory or something like that. It's just reality. It's reality. You always turn to help for something.
But Stephen A. Smith explained that he has been asked to reconsider his position in recent weeks.
“I have no choice but to be more serious about it over the last few weeks.” “I've been approached by people on Capitol Hill. I've approached me with people elected by elected officials, whether it's governor or mayor or whatever you have. Absolute chaos, there's a reasonable reason to believe…I do have legitimate shots to win the presidency of the United States.
