Mr Abed said he felt relieved when the Israelis brought another Red Crescent Caregiator, Assad Nassasra Still alive, to a group of detainees. Abed recalled that in handcuffs and blindfolded, Mr. Nassasra whispered to him about his knowledge of his colleagues.

He said the two looked injured and one of them took it seriously. Mr. Enasra recalled that he had met them in the end and two others were reciting Shahada.

He recalled that when Mr. Abed asked other ambulance workers, an Israeli soldier sounded victorious. “Your colleague-everyone disappeared!” said the medical staff, who told him mockingly.

“May God have mercy on their souls,” Mr. Abed recalled.

Another soldier told him, and also told him in broken Arabic that God brought “those terrorists” to hell.

Eventually, the soldiers led another paramedic, Mr. Al-Nasasra. According to Red Crescent, he is still missing.

That afternoon, Dr. Al-Bardawil and Mr. Abed said they were asked to help soldiers by telling a group of civilians gathered in the area to evacuate the area. After doing so, they said, they were released.

Mr. Abed hurriedly left his coat, ID card and bank card.

His parents have been panic since they heard about the attack.

“Reassure me, dear son, you're fine,” his mother, Somaya Abed, 49, texted him at 7:52 a.m. that day, according to one of her messages, she showed it to a reporter from The New York Times.

Until Mr. Abed was released at around 4 p.m., he immediately called his father.

The young Mr. Abed said, “I’m finally out.”

However, after hours of assault, he could hardly walk. A vehicle with a red crescent moon had to take him home.
