New Line Cinema's plan for more horror sequels, but not giving up on the original work

Horror fans are looking forward to it Final destination: DestinyCCO Richard Brener, president of the new series cinema and CCO, discussed with Hollywood Reporter the history and future of Warner Bros.’s alternative film production division.
Especially in the 90s and 2000s, the company incorporated not only franchisees, but also Arthouse Staples, based on storytelling that has been triggered over time. You can say this is a blueprint for the A24 or neon lights whose characteristics originate from horror, cult and Auteur fare, including Nightmare on Elm Street, Mask, Austin Powers, Mortal Forces, Seven, Lord of the Rings, Elf, Magic, And more.
Now, in the current era, the focus of the new series is horror, but for Breener it is due to the climate of the easiest film demand. “In a sense, it's not a huge change, whether it's horror, comedy, movies made with women-driven movies,” he told THR. “The budget hasn't changed, the expectations have not changed, the pressure has not changed. In a sense, we may be making less comedy today, and the trend of horror movies is because horror movies are operating more and more, and some people are nervous about comedy, which I don't think is reasonable.”
Even so, the pressure between finding more franchised feeds (professed to be tired but still appearing) is the new line trying to navigate. take companionfor example: The film received good reviews from viewers and critics, but was not doing well during the box office run.
To that end, Brener shared: “I think it’s very rare to find a movie that has scored with audiences and critics. There may be some things in this concept that are difficult to do in short form in marketing, but we are very proud of the film and would love to work with it. [writer-director] Drew [Hancock] again. He is an amazing talent. This movie will be profitable for us. ”
And it often attracts audiences over time. As past movies range from worship to horror or genre pillars, this is something familiar to the new series Dark city, spawning, or Shuangfengfeng: Walk with me.
New Line's current horror agent in the residence is James Wan, who is ending his time Lenovo The film is made by making the ninth movie in the universe, Magic: The Last Rite. Michael Chaves's film will see Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as Ed and Lorraine Warren will be integrated. It sounds like the studio is hoping for a big-broad farewell as Brener teased the earlier version of the film was already “tested through the roof.”
He also classifies The final ceremony As “the last stage we call” and noted “we hope we can do more.” Interestingly, whether this means the second stage will restart the universe or be anchored by new prospects outside of Warrens.
Brener continues to describe the focus on the terrifying franchise giant. “We are the second one too evil Dead The movie is also planned by one-third. However, you haven't heard of fresh fresh fresh, we will succeed in having multiple installments. Nightmare on Elm Streetperhaps the film that laid a solid foundation for the company, please make sure it is a bit tricky: “We hope so. This is complicated because of the rights.”
