Sinaloa Cartel Cartel, father and son, drug drug drug substances are alleged to run one of the world's largest fentanyl networks

A father-son duo and other Sinaloa cartel leaders were charged Tuesday with trafficking in large quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin, the Justice Department said.
Federal prosecutors said in a press release that Pedro Inzunza Noriega and his son Pedro Inzunza Coronel operate one of the largest and most complex fentanyl production networks. The Ministry of Justice said the duo was the leader of the powerful and violent faction of Senaro Acatel, the Beltran Leva. Five other leaders have also been accused of drug trafficking and money laundering.
The federal government accused the two of them of trafficking tens of thousands of kilograms of fentanyl to the United States, and the Mexican government seized more than 1.65 tons of fentanyl from its shares, the world's largest fentanyl seizure.
“The Sinaloa Cartel is a complex, dangerous terrorist organization and the removal of them requires a novel, powerful legal response,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement. “The cruel days that they do not affect the American people are over – we will seek lives for these terrorists.”
President Trump has designated eight Latin American drug trafficking groups as terrorist groups, including two major drug trafficking groups in Mexico: Jalisco's new generation and Sinaloa Cartel.
Mr. Trump signed an executive order on the first day of the White House, saying the cartel “posed a national security threat posed by traditional organized crime.”
