$515 million in power tickets sold in Southern California

A lucky Southern Californian is the state's newest millionaire as $515 million worth of power tickets were sold in Orange County.

The only winning votes hit all five numbers: 7, 11, 21, 53, 61 and Saturday night's paintings with 2 powerballs. It is for sale at a 7-Eleven store at 763 Euclid Street in northern Anaheim.

The second person who hit five numbers but didn't have a power ball will be taken home $279,863.

The 7-Eleven store that sells the winning ticket will receive a $1 million bonus.

Lottery officials said that since earlier this year, Oregon's Fenando Cervantes won the $328.5 million jackpot, Saturday night's painting was the 29th consecutive draw.

The next Powerball will be held on Monday, March 31, with the highest award reset to $20 million.

“Every California Lottery game sold raises additional funding for California public schools for the lottery’s mission,” lottery officials said. “These funds support various programs across the state.”

Powerball tickets are $2 per game, drawing every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 PM
