Laval Rocket won the berth in the 2025 Calder Cup playoffs Friday night, beating visiting Toronto Maris 4-1.
Laval, the owner of the AHL's best record in 42-16-3-1 (88 points), missed the playoffs in 2024.
Laval is the first team to win a playoff spot in the Northern section, which will put five teams into the playoffs. The top three will make it to the semifinals, while the fourth and fifth teams will meet in three best first-round series.
