Twitch is adding 1440p and vertical stream

Twitch is becoming more and more with vertical game streaming. Plus, the “2K” (1440p) video will let you watch that League of Legends at a higher resolution. The ability to flow backflow is also coming. CEO Dan Clancy made an announcement on Twitchcon Europe on Saturday.

Portrait Mode Streaming makes it easier for you to watch gameplay on your phone. Twitch has so far supported only the direction of clips and IRL streams. The editing is a short highlight that creators can share after the stream is over. and “real life” content displays daily activities rather than game activities.

But some screens work better in landscape view. Fortunately, Twitch also launched a dual format mode. Creators can live in both vertical and horizontal directions immediately. You can watch the version that suits your device best. The company will begin testing “a small number of channels” this summer. It will expand access later this year.

Twitch's 1440p stream should be a welcome addition. (Who doesn't like videos that look very clear?) On the backend, it uses a newer HEVC codec that produces pictures with better bitrates. The platform's enhanced broadcasting technology automatically adjusts the viewer's resolution.

1440P streaming is launching today to all partners and branches. But this is an open beta, so creators may have to wait for access.

Finally, Twitch is launching rewind. If you missed a portion of the stream, you can scrub to catch up with what you missed. The feature is not here either. Twitch will test it this summer with a “few viewers.”
