Rocky Mountain High School track and field coach terminates for policy violation

According to the Pudor School District, the undisclosed Rocky Mountain High School track and field coach was terminated due to “violation of regional policies.”

The district sent an email Tuesday addressing Rocky Mountain High School track and field families, partially reading: “We are writing: “We are writing about changes to the coaching team of track and field programs.” Some former coaches no longer hire the district due to personnel matters involving violations of regional policies. Please note that no students are involved. ”

The area shared an email with Coloradoan on Wednesday.

“We know this news can be surprising, and we know your students may have questions or concerns. Our priority is the welfare of student athletes,” the email noted.

The email said the district is developing a support program to assist track and field members during the coaching transition and encourage parents or guardians of affected student-athletes to contact a Rocky Mountain High School counselor.

Coloradoan sent PSD a number of questions about termination, including specific area violations, how many coaches were terminated, and being exempted and retained.

The school’s sports website page lists Jamie Mackenzie and 12 head track coaches specializing in the various activities of the 2025 season staff. Colorado has asked PSD to confirm whether the list is accurate when the coach terminates.

This is a development story that may be updated.
