Cybertruk recalls hitting 46k vehicle, thanks to glue failure

Tesla Cybertruck recalled the eighth time, all due to the risk of building decorative panels when the vehicle was driven. Tesla recalled 46,096 electric vehicles this week in a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, noting that if it is isolated from the truck, the stainless steel exterior trim panel could “become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.”
Decorative trim pieces (called Cant Rail) come with glue and fasteners, but can loosen and fall off when the truck moves.
“This structural adhesive has been found to be susceptible to environmental reciprocity,” the company said in a report (PDF).
Tesla representatives did not respond to requests for comment.
Which Seberaks were affected by the recall?
The recall applies to all Seberak manufactured from November 13, 2023 to February 27, 2024.
Tesla said it will replace rail components for free and owners will receive letters about the recall in emails. You are also encouraged to contact Tesla Customer Service for more information.
Since its launch in 2023, Cyberra has faced ongoing criticism, ranging from polarized designs to problems with its stainless steel surfaces, which are prone to rust and spots. Last December, Cybertruck was part of a 70,000-vehicle recall related to its tire pressure monitoring system – the seventh recall.
Earlier this year, Tesla began offering discounts to Seberak after reporting slowing production at its Tesla factory. Meanwhile, some workers were reportedly reassigned from Texas's Sebert-style parliamentary line to focus on the company's best-selling model Y sedan.
Cybertruck has “quality problems at the beginning”
Robby Degraff, an analyst at Auto Pacific, an automotive market research firm, said he cannot imagine consumers wanting to spend nearly six figures on a new car that plagued quality problems at the beginning.
“All brands, prices and powertrains are facing some level of memories, but I think the fact that makes this particular memory so news is that Seibuke is usually just a very controversial product, and that's a fact that has been a huge heat confusion since its inception.”
He cites truck delays, high prices, and has recently been affiliated with Musk's political agenda, saying: “Seberpower cannot rest.”
“While this recall is relevant in makeup, it makes the brand embarrassing, I'm sure, its owner,” he said. “You know (which) vehicle's decorative panels are not only going to be broken down? Rivian's R1T, Ford's F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet's Silverado EV, and the list goes on.”
