Conor McGregor announced his presidential election in Ireland a few days after visiting U.S. President Donald Trump.
McGregor, 36, shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, selling the Irish people on a long caption and largely playing the position of the ceremony, wearing a photo of himself wearing a hat with a “make Ireland great again”.
“Ireland must fully implement the EU immigration agreement by June 12, 2026. Therefore, from now until June 12, 2026, two houses at OIREACHTAS must pass several legislation and then signed by the president. The next presidential election must be held by November 11, 2025,” he wrote in his 46 million followers.
“Who else would support the government and oppose this bill? The other presidential candidates they were trying to propose had no resistance to them. I would.
“This is the Irish people [sic] choose! always! This is a real democracy! …This is the future of Ireland and I am the president. All citizens of Ireland have voices and choices for their future! God bless our people. Vote for McGregor and let your voice hear. ”
If McGregor takes careers seriously into politics, he still has a long way to go. Ireland's presidential candidate must be nominated by at least 20 of the 234 members of the middle and upper yards of the parliament. Additionally, according to the Ireland's Election Commission, they can be nominated by four of the 31 local councils in Ireland.
The Irish president is elected every seven years and can serve for two terms in total. The President's responsibility includes representing the people of Ireland and signing legislation into law and/or bringing bills to the Supreme Court.
Earlier this week, McGregor criticized the Irish government for raising questions in the media about his thoughts on the political landscape of Ireland currently podium at White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The former UFC champion said he “raised the problems facing the Irish people” at the White House.
“It will be music for the ears of the Irish people, because there has never been a problem facing the Irish people on the main stage,” McGregor said.
“It's time for the United States to realize what's going on in Ireland. What's going on in Ireland is a ridicule. Our government is a government with zero action, zero responsibility.” “Our money is on overseas issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people.”
“Illegal immigration rackets are raging the country,” the MMA fighter continued. “There are some rural towns in Ireland that have been occupied in one go and have become a minority in one go. It just needs to be resolved.”

McGregor said, “40 million Irish Americans need to listen” what he planned to say at the White House during his visit.
“Because if not, there will be no place to go home to visit,” he added. “Ireland is on the cusp of potential loss of Ireland, and I'm here to ask this question and emphasize it. It's also St. Patrick's Day, so there will definitely be some celebrations.”

Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin came on X to share a statement about UFC fighter’s thoughts on Ireland after news of McGregor’s meeting with Trump.
“St. Patrick’s Day around the world is a day rooted in community, humanity, friendship and fellowship,” Martin wrote. “Conor McGregor’s remarks are wrong and do not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day or the perspectives of the Irish people.”
Colum Eastwood, leader of Irish Social Democracy and Labor, said McGregor was “very embarrassed” after the visit.
Eastwood said on X: “Conor McGregor was never elected to anything, he did not represent the Irish people.
Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris talked about McGregor’s visit to the White House in New York City.

“But it makes me very clear: Conor McGregor is not in the United States representing the Irish or the Irish people. He is in his personal capacity. He does not speak for Ireland. He does not speak for the Irish people. He has no mission, and I have a clear view of him.”
McGregor shared a photo next to Trump in the Oval Office, writing: “Ad Hominem Style Attack I'm Hot in Ireland [sic] Government elite. ”
“What is your reaction/action plan to the questions I asked?” he asked. “Ireland wants to know. America wants to see!”
He wrote: “Chip, Chip, now Fellas, don't let me move on. Do what the people of Ireland tell you, we won't have any problems here. Don't, it's over for you.”
“You have twelve days to come up with a clear plan of action, 1. Demolition of Ireland [sic] Human trafficking rackets. 2. Massive expulsions of dangerous, criminal and radical imports, as well as all those who enter illegally, and all those who are under pressure on our welfare system, who have not worked to ensure employment or assimilate Irish culture and values. 3. Strict border protection adjustments are being made to prevent this from happening again. ”
McGregor previously mocked the presidential campaign in an article on X last September, “As president, I have the power to summon Dayil and disband.”
“I will seek all the answers from the people of Ireland, from these thieves of these workers, these harassers of these family units, these destroyers of these small businesses and non-stop!” he wrote. “These scammers on the power stand will be called to answer the Irish people, and I will do this at the end of each day. Or, I have no choice but to disband Dáil altogether. Stop the train until the train is. [sic]
“The people of Irish deserve the answers they are seeking. Point out the gaps. This will be my power as president. I know very well. Ireland needs an active president who is fully employed by the people of Irish. This is me. I am the only logical choice. 2025 is coming…”
