8bitdo's full-butt arcade controller is almost as thin as the MacBook Pro

Forgot the joystick and give up the D-Pad. 8bitdo has launched an all-touch arcade controller that contains a super lim-type profile built for competitive fighting games. The company is known for its wide range of affordable handheld controllers, but it has been venturing into the battle pad after releasing the arcade on the arcade stick. The latest arcade controller comes in two versions: a blackened variation, a retro-style counterpart that is officially licensed by Xbox and is compatible with PC and Nintendo Switch.

For fighting game fans, arcade controllers offer a lot of features to offer a more competitive advantage. 8bitdo's latest combat pad has 20 hours of wireless battery life, but also supports wired mode for improved latency performance. To quickly adjust the mid-game, the arcade controller has a control panel in the upper left corner that allows you to adjust volume on the standard version, switch between PC and switch modes, and even activates a match lock that prevents unexpectedly wrong clicks, which can distract you or lose your problem during high-risk matches.

8bitdo adds four programmable kidney-shaped buttons and allows you to keenly unite the mechanical switches of each button for additional customization. If you like RGB lighting, 8BITDO only includes it in the Xbox version. All of these elements are stuck into a 1.6 cm thick controller that is thicker than the 1.55 cm MacBook Pro.

The standard version is pre-ordered on Amazon for $89.99, while the Xbox version is also priced at $99.99. 8bitdo said the first batch of arcade controllers will be shipped in North America starting July 15, while European customers will receive their services starting August 15. It is worth noting that 8bitdo's website previously stated that it would stop ordering US customers at Chinese warehouses, but has since resumed shipping to the U.S., adding that “transportation costs may change due to tariffs.”
