Pam Bondi calls Tesla vandalism “family terrorism” with promising consequences

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday marked a series of recent attacks on Tesla dealerships as “family terrorism” acts against Elon Musk as Trump allies forced the Justice Department to take positive action.
In recent weeks, vandals have defiled or destroyed Tesla vehicles and damaged buildings in several cities amid obvious protests against Mr. Musk’s efforts to greatly narrow down the polarization of federal and fire government workers. No serious injury yet.
Five more vehicles at the Tesla facility in Las Vegas were damaged Tuesday in a case where local authorities said it was a targeted attack.
“The violent attacks on Tesla's property are nothing more than family terrorism,” Ms. Bundy wrote in a statement. “We will continue to investigate and have serious consequences for those involved in these attacks, including those who coordinate and fund these crimes behind the scenes.”
Although fines are imposed under federal law, there is no independent federal domestic terrorism law, including fines, so the person charged in the attack will be against under other federal laws. Ms. Bundy has not specified what charges can be filed, but she said some of the defendants could face at least five years in prison if convicted.
Ms. Bundy’s remarks echo President Trump’s labeling of sabotage as terrorism. On Tuesday, he suggested in an interview with Fox without any basis that aims to be paid for by people who are very politically leftists.”
Congressional Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, forced Ms. Bundy to call for the attacks to occur after domestic terrorism — a successful boycott of Democrats’ efforts to pass legislation to resist the rise of white supremacists and other far-right groups in 2022.
Ms. Bundy supports Mr. Trump's massive forgiveness to hundreds of supporters who support the U.S. Capitol, including some who attacked police. The FBI described those involved in the plan and implementation of the attack as “domestic violent extremists” who had previously identified in threat assessments.
In the past few days, some Tesla facilities have been targeted.
Police arrested a 26-year-old woman on the front window of a Tesla facility in Buffalo Grove, Illinois on Monday and arrested a spray-painted anti-Muske news on a window in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. On the same day, the vandal broke the window and defrauded a dealership in the San Diego area with magicians and slogans.
The FBI's Kansas City Field Office said in a statement to Facebook that the FBI and alcohol, tobacco, guns and explosives are working with local police to investigate the Seiberks' vandalism at a Tesla dealership in Kansas City, Missouri. Last week, an unknown attacker opened twelve photos of the Tesla dealership in Tigard, Oregon, damages some vehicles and store windows.
