Cowboy Trading France sets a stage of sustainable change in textile industry
The program's planned expansion follows its successful implementation and achievements in the Netherlands. The denim deal took shape when 30 brands and industry organizations worked with the Amsterdam Municipal Government and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
The collaboration eventually reached a formal agreement for 2020. The initiative’s objectives include increasing the use of recycled cotton after use, enhancing edibleness, and encouraging sustainable production methods.
The Dutch Embassy in Paris will hold the first event of the cowboy trading in the State Council on March 27, 2025.
The event represents a significant opportunity to attract entities such as brands, classification and collection agencies, recycling companies, weaving companies, and other key components of the supply chain.

The denim deal is committed to building a truly circular supply chain in Europe and around the world. It aims to produce more than $1 billion in jeans based on the model by 2030.
To achieve this milestone, the program focuses on tangible commitments such as encouraging the integration of recycled cotton in new jeans manufacturing and enhancing traceability of product life cycles, thus minimizing the environmental impact of denim throughout the production process
It also seeks to extend the life of the product to promote sustainable fashion.
Entities participating in denim transactions will have access to expert guides on textile recycling, traceability, eco-design and exclusive materials, webinars and best practices.
They will also benefit from a dedicated network of members to share opportunities and innovation.
In addition, participants will profit from increased visibility between consumers and business partners and their positive stance on regulatory development through collective strength.
