JJ Redick admits Lakers are looking for answers offensively

Los Angeles Lakers head coach J.J. Redick delivered one of his most candid assessments yet as the team continues to struggle with offensive inconsistency during a difficult stretch of the season.
After winning just two of his last six games and scoring a total of 84 points in four losses, Redick admitted he's still looking for solutions.
“I don't know what else to do,” Redick told reporters Saturday, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin .
JJ Redick said he was confused by the Lakers' lack of organization on offense and thought those plays were either not run or run the wrong way. “I don't know what else to do. … This happens a lot now. I attribute it to the holidays.” pic.twitter.com/yKowEdE6C0

The Lakers head coach explained that these issues weren't just game night, but reoccurring in practices, with issues with communication and execution.
“This happens a lot now,” Reddick said. “I attribute that to the holidays.”
That frustration carried over into Friday night's win over the Memphis Grizzlies, a game the Lakers managed to pull out of despite struggling to execute simple instructions during timeouts.
“I tried a dozen plays after the timeout,” Redick said. “Only four of them worked correctly.”
“There were just a lot of mistakes in execution,” Redick added. “You should be able to move a 30-second time delay from the clipboard to another. So it's a little frustrating.”
One of the players at the center of the offensive conversation is Deandre Ayton, who has not scored more than 12 points in his past five starts.
Redick admitted the big man's struggles were exacerbated by frustration on both ends of the floor.
“He felt like he wasn't getting the ball,” Redick said, according to McMenamin. “He had opportunities to hide at times, but he wasn't active. When he was hiding, we had opportunities to hit him, but we weren't going to hit him.”
