“Cleaning Procedure” Review: Daisy Ridley deserves better, so do you

Daisy Ridley Cleaner. Provided by Moke Distribution

Daisy Ridley has a lot of hope. She is a talented, thoughtful actress in three thirds of the Star Wars Movies (more in the future). She is good at acting and has quieter, more emotional scenes. But in recent years, Ridley has not always had the best option. Last year she was real-life swimmer Gertrude Ederle Young woman and the sea Very powerful, but the movie is like Sometimes I want to die,,,,, The daughter of the swamp king and magpie Not doing much of Ridley's justice. Enter Cleanerperhaps the worst movie on her IMDB page now.

Cleaner ★ (1/4 star)
directed by: Martin Campbell
Written by: Simon Uttley, Paul Andrew Williams, Matthew Orton
Starring: Daisy Ridley, Taz Skylar, Clive Irving
Running time: 105 minutes.

In a high-stakes thriller directed by talented filmmaker Martin Campbell, the British actress plays a literal window cleaner named Joey Locke. She comes from a broken home and now helps support her autistic brother, Michael (Matthew Tuck). Despite working in the real-life glossy London skyscraper (a Canadian Square), she quit the British Army and worked hard to stay financially. We see flashbacks of her childhood, where she climbs outside the window of her tall apartment building, while her father defeats Michael, a shortcut to telling the audience that she is not afraid of height and is also a bad sibling. .

Jumping to today, Michael was kicked out of his nursing home, which left Joey late to work. Her boss was upset and sent her outside to help cleaner Noah (Taz Skylar) in short words. In fact, he was so upset that he hung her up the upper floor and wiped a dead bird off the glass. As she relentlessly scrapes the birds off the window, the grand celebration by Agnia Energy was hijacked by a group of ecological terrorists called Earth Revolution. The terrorists took over the security level, placed the bullets in Joey's boss, and knocked everyone in the building with some kind of gasoline. Only executives from Agnian remain sober because terrorist leader Marcus (Clive Irving) needs them to admit their environmental crimes on camera.

Joey witnessed the fact of hijacking, and it was the fact that Noah was one of the ecoterrorists. His motivation is probably the worst, and he quickly shows Joey in the villain, forcing her to shoot the gun on the street below (never narratively adding up). Soon, she became a target for London police officers when she hung on the side of the building. Bridgeton Favorite Ruth Gemmell plays Claire Hume, the head of the police force, and the only sane person trying to stop the hijacking. Claire and Joey eventually formed a rapport via phone because Claire realized that the real threat came from the tower. Joey's attempt to save the day was nice, with some nice battle scenes, but the overall premise was ridiculous to make it hard to pause your suspicion. In a time of severe climate emergency, it is difficult for people to act as confronters and corrupt energy companies, and corrupt energy companies are also difficult to tolerate environmental supporters.

Campbell takes charge of the movie Casino Royale and Vertical limithe knows how to perform a tight action sequence. But here he is bound by the chaotic script of Simon Uttley, a writer who once wrote some scripts in a similar tone. Joey's backstory is melodious and psychologically simple, and doesn't get enough tension from the dangerous skyscraper setup. Even if Joey slides down from the window cleaning platform, we never really feel that Joey is in danger. The dizzying height should be the secondary opponent, but the threat is not enough to make the audience nervous – which is certainly not Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol Tom Cruise hangs alone on Burj Khalifa. Even the title of the movie lacks a much-needed fist. Ridley is a powerful action heroine, but she deserves better material than this.
